Woodworking and furniture design intrigue me because of the physical process, the problem solving and the endless possibilities for experimentation. My initial inspiration is function with an emphasis on shape, but the final form of the piece is not wholly dictated by its purpose. My work is about exploring contrast or subtlety between curves, angles and mixed material. I am drawn to rhythm and repetition with inspiration from traditional techniques and modern design.
